In response to the Hoff comes this offering from Gil Scott Heron (him of the previous post - Revolution), born in Chicago, Gil Scott-Heron (April 1, 1949) is an American poet and musician known primarily for his late 1960s and early 1970s work as a spoken word performer.
This is his classic 'Bottle' and a song that echoes through the years and one that has come in and out of my life since the early 70's...this goes out to a close friend who shows a bit of compassion daily to people in the bottle...enjoy

Thanks so much for this video. Now there's "the real Chicago," one of my favorite places - appears to be the South Side in the seventies. What memories! - even though I was only a little white girl, always just passing through...
