Memories

I was trawling through some old posts and found this one, just over a year ago, we were all so young and carefree back in those days!!

At Tapestry last week, those members whom God is building into a community participate in the 'hanging of the cross'. This ancient celtic ritual is a source of great guidance...the person left on the 'holy dangling things' at the end becomes the one through whom the preaching will be delivered...

Looks like its gonna be me again as no-one could stay on, with one of us being fully slain upon the gravel. Next week we are doing roller blading snake handling on ice...is church meant to be this much fun?

Those were the days, that was great fun, i remember we all had lunch together upstairs in Wimpy that afternoon. Church should always be as much fun.

Dave, Good to hear from you, will ask around about any rooms to let.

Hope all is well for you, it is common in the Free Church to stand to pray and sit to sing.

Will let you know if anything turns up

The waitresses in Wimpy always say hello, I think we were the first and last church to meet there, it was great fun, what we have planned next will I hope surpass it.

I think you must be some of the 1st & last people to meet there full stop! How on earth has Wimpy survived as a business ... mega-expensive junk food that you eat with a knife & fork. How quaint! I remember going to one in 1979.

Up until the smoking ban a few months ago they allowed smoking throughout the cafe as well, I think we have a KFC coming soon, I think Wimpy will struggle to survive here, kind of sad, as you say where else can you get fast food and a pot of tea with knives, forks and pot plates.

Maybe there's a parable in their somewhere?

I think any organisation that fails to be a movement and embrace and respond to conditions around it will die, and in all honesty they deserve to for being so lazy and believing they have some God given right to exist.
