My great-grandmother, Anna Prattle, arrived in Chicago from Bohemia with her named tagged to her dress. She hoped that someone would be there to meet her, for she spoke no English. This is all the more true for Christian theology, which both struggles to speak to the postmodern and non-western world but feels bound by its historical parochialism.
